Dr Athanasios Dalakouras (RNASTIP Fellow, Research and Supervision)
Athanasios is an agro-biotechnologist with expertise in RNA-mediated gene regulation in plants. He graduated (2004) from the Agricultural University of Athens (Department of Biotechnology), obtained his MSc (2006) from the University of Crete (Department of Biology) and his PhD (2010) from the Heidelberg University (Centre for Organismal Studies). Later on, he conducted his post-doctoral research (2011-2018) in AlPlanta Institute for Plant Research (Neustadt, Germany) in the group of Michael Wassenegger. Since September 2018, Athanasios is a Marie Curie Fellow (RNASTIP) in the University of Thessaly (Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Larissa, Greece). RNASTIP research is conducted in the Plant and Environmental Biotechnology lab of Assoc. Prof. K. Papadopoulou.
Assoc. Prof. Kalliope Papadopoulou (RNASTIP Supervisor)
Kalliope is a biologist and Assoc. Prof. in Plant Biotechnology in University of Thessaly (UTH, Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology). Her main research interests are plant secondary metabolism (biosynthesis, production in heterologous systems, biological activities) and plant-microbe interactions, with emphasis on beneficial microorganisms. Kalliope is the supervisor of RNASTIP.
Assoc. Prof. Maria Pappas (RNASTIP secondment)
Maria is an applied ecologist and Assoc. Prof. in Entomology and Acarology in Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH). Maria will host the applicant at her lab for 2 months in the framework of RNASTIP.
Elena is a biologist with expertise in viroid biology and plant biotechnology. She is currently a member of in Plant and Environmental Biotechnology lab, partially assisting in RNASTIP.
